We are done with this maintenance day.

For future days, I will be figuring out a schedule to perform maintenance and days for new content uploads. This will be done to attempt to mitigate disruption to the amount of time the server is down.

As with the First Rising Maze, we will be opening the Solaris Maze prior to the actual holiday to give everyone ample time to have a chance to run through it. We will open it shortly after tonight's restart.

The portal to enter the maze will be in the museum. It will be Orange. Upon entering the maze you will find a dimensional shard that will bring you back to the beginning if you get lost in the maze. This Dimensional Shard Only Works in the Maze. There are many goodies that can spawn in the maze. Also as with the First Rising Maze, there are no monsters. Remember if you are going to attempt to unlock the treasure chests in the maze to be prepared for the traps on them. Which means you should be well equipped with healing fairies. Once you find the exit, there should be a maze completion ticket near by. Take your ticket. You only need one.

Anyone who has one at the end of the holiday will be rewarded with 5 artifact tokens. We will do a drawing from the names of those who have completed the maze for a grand prize as well. The Grand Prize will be access to a valley to create a Guild Town. The one who wins this will be able to name this town, as well as decide what kind of npcs will go into a build we will place in the valley. The valley will also include its own bank, Healing Fairies, and Durka Herd. Access to this valley will be up to the one who wins it, as there is no direct access to it via world maps. Though it should be noted that it is inevitable that someone will make their way into it somehow.

Happy Solaris and Happy Maze Diving!!!!

June 14th 12:00 am US Central Standard Time(during/following the restart) We will be performing server maintenance. I will be attempting to also deal with the pesky first save after restart freezing issue. Which enters the realms of weirdness as the issue does not seem to arise on the test server at all. The issue seems to be connected to how the server is Serializing the name of Alliance leaders. As such, just prior to the restart I will be disbanding all guild Alliances. Currently there is only 2 active guild alliances on the server. This will not really be much of a set back. Till I know the that the issue is resolved, I will also be disabling the ability to for new guild alliances. Again not much of a set back in terms of creating stability for the server. This will help me determine if this is the real issue or not. If it is not the real issue, I will reinstate the ability to form alliances, so those alliances that were disbanded can be remade by those involved.

During the Server maintenance and trying to solve this issue, I will be launching and shutting down the server. So please be patient with us. I do not expect this down time to go longer then an hour or two. I just want this dealt with, if possible, prior to the coming Solaris Holiday. I will post here in the news and on discord once we are done and the server is fully back online.

Well, I seen your message a little late. I went ahead and made a single web page with the alloy recipes. All one needs to do is roll their mouse over the name of the alloy to see the full recipe.

I think its a great thing to have.

Just a little showing of my abilities.

I made a chart, you can find a link here:
https://www.thedarktides.com/forum/index.php?board=23.0

I am in the process of writing a review/suggestion for the system as a whole and wasn't gonna share the chart until I could pretty it up and finalize things but it's probably what you're looking for.

Here's a quick alloy chart I put together to help me visualize what to make, given what else all of the ores are used for.  It includes special property on the ore and while I put a "tier" column which is my personal opinion, the effective tier in terms of damage/stats is listed under grouping, which is also how they appear in the alloy tong menu.

For instance: Stellite gives LRC, which is not as desirable as the HCI of Talonite, and they share common and rare resources.  They are both Group 4, so have the highest stats, but I would not recommend Stellite.  Some alloys share ores of higher tier/group alloys, again, these are not advised to craft.

The ores are color-coded for the highest tier of recipe they show up in.

I can tweak it if someone wants but it just has the info available as it is.  You can also copy it to your own personal sheets and edit it to your taste if you so desire.

I know its on the alloy tongs, but I think information like that should be made available to the players without having to look on the tool to be able to see what is needed and what they have instead of relying on the tool itself. Like a quick reference of sorts.

I think information like that would be a great asset to players when they don't feel like picking up the tool and accessing the gump to see the recipes.

In my opinion, stuff like that should be in the forums or on the website for easy accessibility for players who are crafters, miners, or something like that.

Solaris is coming! As some of you already know, the in game holiday occurs June 16th through June 23rd. Anyone who logs in during this time will receive a one time gift bag for the holiday.

This year we will be including a new maze with several new stealables/takables.

We will also be introducing the Lith and the Vox holiday mobs. Here is the low down on the Lith and the Vox mobs:

As it was with the First Rising Primal mobs, The Lith and Vox will be spawning around the Terra Map and the Andromeda Map. These mobs however will be aggressive so be aware of that. They will also be feedable like the primal mobs were. The Lith and the Vox love Power Crystals and Super Charged Power Crystals. So I recommend stocking up!

The Lith represent the Light, and the Vox represents the Dark. There are 2 base types of Lith and Vox. Major and Minor.

Minor Lith/Vox consist of War Hounds, Wanderers, Dwellers, Stalkers, Vagabonds, Shamans, Grunts, Enforcers, and Archers. Example being: "a vox war hound" or "a lith vagabond". These are the ones you will find wandering around the maps. The will take reduced damage, and also receive a damage bonus based on your status level. They have a lot of hitpoints but are not that highly skilled.

Major Lith/Vox consist of different types determined on if it is lith or vox. These mobs will only be found in the corresponding dungeon. The location of the entrance to these dungeons will be released later. These mobs also will take no damage unless you are wielding a weapon of the opposite type. So lith major mobs will take no damage unless you are wielding a vox weapon, and vice versa.

To obtain the Lith/Vox Weapons you will need kill the minor lith/vox to get chance drops name Lith/Vox Sphere, Lith/Vox Stone, Lith/Vox Crystal(quantities have yet to be determined). Once you have enough of these items in your pack, Double Clicking the Lith/Vox Crystal will combine them all into a special weapon of that type. These weapons will carry their own special attacks just like the alloy crafted weapons do.

As with The First Rising Holiday, there will Be Solaris Loot Chests, and Solaris Gift Boxes.

We have a few other things in the works at the moment for the Solaris Holiday so more information is coming as we get closer to the Holiday.
